Joel Elliott Mooneyhan is a Southern-born songwriter from Grayson, Georgia.
He has played in various bands and as a solo artist around Georgia for most of his life. A Southerner, a visual artist, an ordained pastor, and a preacher's son, Joel's music draws from a deep well of history, faith, and experience.
The youngest of four children, Joel was raised up on the musical leanings of his older brother and sisters, learning the hooks and melodies of bands like U2, Drivin N Cryin, The Violent Femmes. From his parents, he learned to love Johnny Cash and Conway Twitty. He found out about Bob Dylan all on his own.
Joel's music is filtered through a lifetime in the South, the music of his childhood, and half a million miles on the road.
